The Formula 1 championship is based on a points system. The winner of each race receives 25 points, second place receives 18 points, third place receives 15 points, and so on, with the tenth-placed driver receiving 1 point. The driver with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the world champion.

Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most oldest and difficult tracks on the roster, and one that every driver wishes to win. The qualifying brought out one of the most exciting moments from this seasons so far. In Q3 verstappen had to drive for his money as Ocon pulled a late Pole position with 2 minutes left, but only to have it taken away by Leclerc. It wasn't however over yet as Alonso gave it his all and pulling one out of his pocket by taking Pole away from Leclerc. At the end of the Q3 with only 1 lap remaining Verstappen starting with Green in sector 1 and 2 and everyone thought Alonso would Keep his Pole, but Verstappen had his throttle all the way down in the last sector gaining three tenths of a second to win Pole Position.
The race itself in Monaco wasn't as exciting until the rain decided to show up in Lap 53, causing everyone to use the best strategy on when to pit for intermediate tyres. Everyone was scrambling and waiting for the right moment. Alonso took a gamble to change for Medium Tyres first, but initially noted that this was not the right strategy as it started to pour and he was forced to change again for inter. However, this did not cause him his second place as he had enough time ahead of Ocon who was driving in third. Max Verstappen decided to go straight from Medium to Inter and survived multiple contacts with the wall before getting back into rhythm to then proceed to win the Grand Prix.
